Despite new display technologies, nothing can beat a paper printed book for pleasant reading. But for searching, a digital copy of the book has many advantages.
What if a publisher would fit a chip somewhere in his book that can communicate to your PC (Bluetooth?) and link to the publisher’s website, where facilities can be available to search the book? You would just need to put the book on your desk, and the digital copy would pop up on your PC… The digital ID stored in the chip would be an ID to identify the book and can contain credentials to authenticate on the publisher’s website.
